Why New Anime And Manga Struggle To Gain Viewer Ship
Anime/Manga come and go, though many have been publicized, few stay and fewer don't even make it past the 10 episode mark. So what makes a Anime become stable and be able to grow?
Viewership is important for any form entertainment, however creating a community around it is equally if not more important. Views sound easy to obtain, but actually are really difficult and the reason behind that is many do not have a impactful first impression to them. For example when you're looking for a new show to watch and you stumble upon an anime like Bleach your first thoughts would be "What kind of Anime name is Bleach?" which is a great hook to further the readers interest. Next is description. You read that it's about Shinigami and the afterlife, which will peak their curiosity so they begin to watch the series. Another example would be One Punch Man, the first sentence got me hooked already. " Man finishes fights with One Punch!" doesn't that sounds super awesome to watch?
Many new shows don't have this to drive people in. I mean i seen many shows with titles that sounds alright but don't scream " WATCH ME". The description to them is lackluster as well, sometimes it sounds like something I read a thousand times. I firmly believe if they were to somehow change theses things, much more people would add it to their watch list.
Gaining views doesn't necessary mean a added following automatically. However the chances increase with more views. I can start watching a Anime and never watch it again after the first episode if it didn't match my expectations from the description. Having good content is what makes them stay. So content that synergies with the description is key as well.
Well that wraps up this topic
So what do you guys think?
